NERA RESIDENCES - Chevron Island - Design Review 2
After a resonably long pause, the design of this apartment block has evolved to meet both market demands and the needs of future residents. The recent redesign has certainly enhanced the project’s viability, although on-site progress remains slow. Key adjustments have been made, particularly in the gym and pool areas, now thoughtfully integrated on the same level—a move that significantly enhances accessibility and functionality.
The floor plates have also been refined, eliminating the previously awkward cut-outs on the north and south sides, thereby optimizing the layout. However, a notable change is the replacement of three-bedroom units on the lower levels (which we previously loved - Refer previous review) with two-bedroom units, complemented by an office space or small multipurpose room. To justify updating the town planning approval, a few extra levels have been included. Overall, we now offer a total of 81 units—a modest increase of three but with an impressive height gain of 14.5 meters or five additional stories.
The tower's new configuration consists of levels 2 to 16 featuring four two-bedroom units per floor, levels 17 to 23 housing two three-bedroom units with multipurpose rooms, and levels 24 to 26 offering two additional three-bedroom apartments or half-sky homes, culminating in a luxurious four-bedroom penthouse.
While the design has improved in terms of livability, the western units still lack some of the allure found on the eastern side. For those who favor size, the western balconies are notably smaller. From levels 20 to 26, residents will enjoy the essence of sky home living, and we welcome the chance to collaborate on refining those designs partically if you choose westside. Nevertheless, the division between east and west remains a challenge, with limitations in balcony space and a lack of dedicated entries, not to mention the exposure to the western sun. Finally, the traditional penthouse on level 27 offers generous space, a true oasis for discerning buyers.
